Festival and the Elephant march. The
Teej festival is annually held during
the arrival of monsoon period which
falls between July and August. A single
festive day is mainly celebrated by
married women who pray to the Goddess
Parvati for their happy marriage life.
The festivities involve singing and
dancing to praise Parvati. On this
occasion women are allowed to enjoy
themselves, signing, dancing, feasting,
and dressing in their most beautiful.
In Jaipur city, the idol of Parvati
will be parade around, allowing the
public to worship the Goddess Parvati.
Another colorful festival in Jaipur
is the Elephant Festival. Annually
held in March, the festival is one
of the most colorful with the grand
parades of elephants decorated with
bright colors and rich jewelry. There
is also a completion find the most
beautifully decorated elephant. Elephant
polo is also an attraction.
